It is emotional and poetic while remaining soulful and intriguing. It is hard to classify or categorize the sound of this album but that is what makes it great. On channel ORANGE, Frank delivers a similar, but more complete body of work. Landing on several “Top Albums of 2011” lists including Complex, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Spin and Time, Nostalgia was a refreshing release that somewhat redefined the R&B genre. Frank Ocean may be a new name to the greater population but for many, channel ORANGE has been a highly anticipated follow up from last years nostalgia, ULTRA for over a year now. The talk about this being a publicity stunt could be taken seriously if we were talking about a less talented artist but the realness of Frank’s music says otherwise. For one, his debut album, channel ORANGE, is the #1 album on iTunes and two, because of an unexpected letter about his sexuality that the R&B artist wrote to his fans via his Tumblr page. ![]() Over the past couple weeks, Frank Ocean has become a household name for any follower of music for multiple reasons.
